3-I Project Learning: Collaboration between China and HK Primary Schools

As a key national development project of National Research Center for Computer Education (NRCCE, 全国中小学计算机教育研究中心) of China Education Department, Primary 5 or 6 students from 13 primary schools (4 from Beijing, 5 from Qingdao and 4 from Hong Kong) will collaborate using KC to build projects in the area of environment protection.  As a first project of this nature with this scale, we envision this project to contribute to the best practices and research in IT in Education.

 

3-I Project Work (www.3iproject.net), 9/2003 - 8/2004

Founded by Quality Education Fund (QEF) of Hong Kong government, this project uses KC as the main platform to facilitate 745 primary 5 students, 20 teachers, parents from 4 primary schools, and experts to perform 3-I (Interdisciplinary, Inter-school and International) project learning, covering more than 25 different topics in the area of environment protection.

Funded by Ministry of Education, this is a 2.5 years project focuses on the knowledge and skills of Singapore teachers as collaborators, designers, resource managers and facilitators for student-centred learning in the 21st century to empower the teachers, students and policymakers with detailed information about the knowledge base, skills and

strategies needed for effective implementation of student-centred learning, i.e. Project Work (PW), in Singapore schools. The project involves teachers and students from 30 secondary schools and researchers from NIE and Hong Kong.
